Dear MOMS,

As most of you know, one of our members, Mary Tucker, is going through an extremely trying time.  Her dad is currently battling lung cancer in Florida, she lost her mom 6 months ago to myelodsyplasia which was a result of her cancer treatments and now she has recently been diagnosed with cancer. She has A.L.L. Leukemia which is actually a childhood leukemia and rare in adults. However, good news is that it has an 80-90% cure rate. She has gone to Houston to receive treatment from doctors who specializes in her type of Leukemia. After initial testing, her team of doctors went over all her medical info.  She will be in Houston 6-8 months, maybe more, then returning home to continue treatment.

100% of all donations will go to
Mary Tucker and her family

Mary was a stay at home mom to her boy/girl twins before beginning treatment.  St. Peters has made a place for the twins to start full time daycare.  It will be good for them to have consistency and Mike (her husband) can drop them off before he goes into work to teach.  She’ll be staying a hotel attached to the hospital starting Monday with different family and friends staying with her. She’ll have to go over for treatments, transfusions etc. each day.  As you can imagine, this is a costly endeavor.  With the unexpected cost of daycare, hotel and food expenses, airline tickets so Mike can visit as often as he can, expenses will pile up over the course of the next year.   This is where you can help.

  1. BAMOM, with help from iWeblogic, has set up a place on the BAMOM website for donations.  You can make a donation through PayPal with your personal paypal account, eCheck or credit card.

  2. BAMOM is also providing meals for the family using the website Meal Train.  Copy and paste or click on the following link.  http://www.mealtrain.com/?id=m5tnac7hrq7t
You have to create an account, but that's just to keep the families’ info private.

  3. Support the fundraiser being held for Mike and Mary Tucker.  (See the message below for more details)  Contact Greg McNair for more info or to help at gmcnair@charter.netor via phone/text at 205-283-7290

The outpouring of love, support and prayers has been tremendous.  They are needed now more than ever as Mary and her family continue on this medical journey.

Thanks,

Tonya Nealon
